Lockall transforms a former circular parking lot in the city of Paris into a state-of-the-art storage center

This Wednesday, February 14, Lockall acquired a former circular parking lot of 22,000 m2 located in the 13th arrondissement and belonging to the city of Paris. The start-up will invest around 18 million euros to acquire this space and transform it. “This building has two characteristics that particularly interested us: the quality of its location, with a mix of housing nearby, sustained economic activity, and a high population density (24,800 inhabitants per km2), as well as the opportunities for reversibility that it offers,” rejoices Antoine Muel, director of real estate development for the start-up. Sensitive to the issues of land sobriety, the start-up will carry out a comprehensive rehabilitation of this old circular car park with 850 spaces to give it a second life. The operation will transform it into one of the largest and most modern 22,000 m2 storage centers in the capital. Ultimately, the site will accommodate 1,400 storage spaces open to individuals and professionals and ranging from 0.5 to 30 m2 to cover a wide range of needs. Each storage space will be completely secure thanks to an encrypted digital key directly linked to the user’s phone: a technological solution developed internally by Lockall. The center will also include two freight elevators and 285 parking spaces. Lockall becomes the third player in the sector in the capital Established in the 8th arrondissement of Paris since 2022, Lockall is continuing its development in Île-de-France and aims, with this new investment, to open its largest storage center in Paris intramuros with a net rental area of 7,400 m2. The site’s entry into operation is scheduled for the end of the first quarter of 2025, and should propel the start-up onto the podium of players in the sector. Alexis de l’Épine, Founder of Lockall, recalled his ambitions on the occasion of the signing: “We are particularly happy to have completed this acquisition. This site will become one of the most important and modern in the capital and will respond to a real need that we have identified by offering tailor-made, accessible and secure storage solutions to individuals and professionals,” before adding : “This purchase marks an important step in the development of Lockall. Today we aim to reach 15 storage centers by 2026! “.
