Lockall and storemore announced as winners of 3 FEDESSA Awards
Our incredible brands have, once again, showcased their position at the forefront of the self-storage industry, winning no fewer than 3, and coming runner up in a further 2, awards at the recent FESEDDA conference. The conference, held in Stockholm, brings together self-storage operators and suppliers from across Europe. The awards recognise the achievements of operators across a range of areas, all with a focus on driving the industry forwards.
The team from storemore, Spain, took the top trophies for the Sustainability Award along with that for the Independent Store of the Year, whilst also achieving runner up for the Store Manager of the Year and The Conversion of the Year categories.
The Lockall team from France, were the deserving winners of the Expansion / Conversion of the Year Award for their Suresnes facility. This is the second year in a row that Lockall has one this award, following the recognition of their flagship site in Paris 8 in the 2023 FEDESSA awards.

These awards result from the high levels of hard work and commitment that the storemore and Locakall teams have given in delivering world-class storage facilities for their customers.
Winning the Sustainability Award represents storemore’s and the wider Rafter Group’s commitment to ESG. The facility, storemore Mostoles, in Madrid is the first self-storage building in Spain to have achieved the BREEAM Excellent standard. This is a significant achievement requiring a strong focus on environmental responsibility throughout the construction process. It included the removal of 41 tons of asbestos, diverting over 92% of waste from landfill and the integration of renewable energy along with the provision of EV charging amongst many other elements. The structure promotes biodiversity with the installation of a green roof along with rainwater harvesting capabilities and 7 bird houses and 3 insect hotels.
The Conversion of the Year, awarded to Lockall Suresnes, showcases the transformation of an industrial research facility into a state-of-the-art storage facility. Part of a mixed-use development that includes commercial spaces, a gym, a school and student accommodation, the Lockall facility has become a valued part of the local infrastructure also offering work pods, EV charging and bike parking to cater for the storage needs of the local community.
These awards bolster the long list of those already achieved by brands across the group and clearly demonstrate the Rafter Group ethos and ambition to challenging the industry norms.
